Work Schedule and Working Conditions
As a general pediatrician working in a private practice, the hours are usually Monday-Friday from 8-6, with some Saturday clinics and about 1 weekend a month of being on call. If you are a pediatric specialist, the hours may be more and if you work in the hospital then you usually work more weekends/nights and are on call more often.
Traveling Requirements
Being a pediatrician, you don't travel much. Occasionally, or once a year, you might go to a national conference to get CME (Continuing Medical Education): something you do to keep up with your job. These conferences could be all over the world.
